Folkestone is a delightful seaside town, largely built after the coming of the railway in the mid 19th Century. It has the famous Leas, a 2-mile long cliff-top walk, the now disused Harbour Arm which recently has been restored and renovated to become a pleasure pier. There is a thriving creative community with many independent shops and studios in the Creative Quarter around the Old High Street and Tontine Street.
There are numerous hotels and restaurants in the town as well as some jolly good pubs. Folkestone is renowned for its spectacular views, beaches and walks, as well as its fascinating history, and there are a great many ways to enjoy time here.
