Vol. I, xvi + 315 pp.; Vol. II, [iv] + 332 pp.; Vol. III, [iv] + 370 pp. Bound in nineteenth century morocco, with gilt decorated borders; spine rebacked, in compartments, decorated gilt, with gilt titles. Some age related wear to boards, offsetting of plates, and scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good set. Extra illustrated by engravings, etc., with 25 in Vol. I, !5 in Vol. II and 17 in Vol. III (total 57). First edition of Scott's Waverley novel, Woodstock, set just after the Civil War, lavishly extra illustrated by an early owner (Todd and Bowden, Sir Walter Scott, A Bibliographical History, 190A).
