8vo. 8.75 x 5.75 inches. 256 pp. Bound in original red cloth, gilt, in unclipped pictorial dust wrapper, with edge wear, including chips at head and tail of spine, which is lightly sunned. Boards have have some damp staining on rear and a little foxing of flyleaves; otherwise a very good copy. Signed 1957 inscription by author in green ink on title page. Illustrated by 7 pages of black and white photographs, including portrait frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. An anecdotal reminiscence of the wine and food trades, including restaurants and retail grocery, with accounts of visits to European vineyards. Thomas Arthur published several books on the on the wine and catering trades. A scarce title, this copy signed by the author.
