Periodical Volume. 8vo, in fours. 4.75 x 7.5 inches. [4] + 101-378 pp. + [4] + 9-56 pp. Copy lacks up to pp. 100 and 1-8 pp of The Chronological Diary, this and the preceding Table having separate pagination and register. Age wear to extremities, with some loss at head and tail of spine. Some browning of pages and scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by initials. The Historical Register was published in London in Volumes 1-23 containing numbers 1-92, 1716-38. This volume for 1723 lacks the first hundred pages (i.e. number XXIX) and the first eight pages of the Chronological Diary at the end, but is otherwise complete for the year. It provides a detailed record of events as they happened in Britain, including Parliament and in her colonial possessions, particularly the West Indies, and reprints many original documents and letters. The Chronological Diary gives a day by day account of happenings. (ESTC T154300 / 01).
