[xvi] + 243 + [i] pp. Bound in imitation vellum, gilt, with gilt titles and borders,in unclipped dust wrapper, which has neat repairs at head and tail of spine, which is sunned. Deckled edges. Pages uncut. A little wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine which are sunned. Light foxing of lower page edges an rear pastedown; otherwise a very good copy. 1945 Oxford signature on front pastedown. Illustrated by three pages of portrait plates with facsimile signatures. Decorated by title page vignette. A work of collective biography. Memoirs by Robert Bridges (1844-1930), Poet Laureate 1913-30 of three of his close friends: Digby Mackworth Dolben (1848-67), Richard Watson Dixon (1833-90), and Henry Bradley (1845-1923), significant figures in his life and literary circle.
