Notes
A detailed analysis of the Zeebrugge Raid of 23 April 1918, in which three allied blockships, with a diversionary landing on the Mole led by the Vindictive, attempted to deny use of the canal to Bruges by German submarines. The first part is a narrative of the raid set in its context; the second contains biographies of many of the participants. Appendices list the composition of the naval force, the casualties, the honours and awards gained, and the Flanders based German submarines lost during the War.
