Four volume edition of Alexander Pope, edited by George Croly (1780-1860), Irish born poet, novelist and historian. Educated at Trinity, Dublin,he was ordained in 1804 and moved to London around 1810. He served as rector of St Stephen's, Walbrook in the City of London from 1835. Printed and published by Abraham John Valpy, M.A. of Red Lion Court, Fleet Street, who specialised in classical literature.
