Notes

An account of the life and work of the marine, later landscape artist, Claude Muncaster (1903-74). In his early career he sailed round the Horn before the mast in a grain ship. During the war he was the Admiralty's camouflage expert, working in the office of Commander Brock, to whom this book is inscribed. He served as President of the Royal Society of Marine Artists for nearly twenty years. The author is his son, Martin Muncaster (b.1934), BBC radio and TV broadcaster, actor and producer.
