Bound in original blue cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper, which has some lower edge wear on rear wrapper; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 14 pages of black and white plates and by line drawings. Map endpapers. Joshua Teller (1844-1909) was a Nova Scotian born naturalised Us seaman and adventurer. In 1898 he returned to Newport, R.I. in the Spray, from the first ever single handed voyage around the world. Slocum disappeared at sea on a voyage from Vineyard Haven, Mass. to the West Indies in 1909. Edited by Slocum scholar, Walter Magnes Teller (d.1993). First published 1958.
