It examines the various periods of growth and structural change, followed by an examination of the different sectors of the economy. The final chapter analyses Britain's decline as a world economic superpower. First published in French in 1978. Francois Crouzet (1922-2010) was a distinguished French historian of Britain, who was Professor of Northern European History at the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
