8vo. 5.25 x 7.5 inches. xv + [i] + 264 pp. Bound in original red cloth, with gilt and black titles and black borders, with blind stamping on rear board. Green decorative endpapers. Extremities worn, spine sunned and board edges stained. Hinges starting to crack and title page browned, but otherwise a very good copy. 1898 gift inscription on first free endpaper. A collection of dramatic poetry suitable for reciting, including verse from Australia and the US. 'The aim of this book is to furnish both the dramatic reciter and the elocutionist with a new collection of pieces for recitation and reading.' It includes practical hints for reciters and, at the end, a few press opinions on the Rev. J. J. Nesbit as a reciter. The author is stated to be the Vicar of Rodmersham, Kent.
