Notes

An 1837 reissue of the Seventh Edition, corresponding to Goulden's (c) state with the Vapour Baths addition at the end. It is closest to Goulden 59, but has five plates rather than six and a different pagination of the advertisement sections after the main text. The preface (Address) is dated June, 1837. Like the preceding Fifth and Sixth Editions, John Clifford (1787-1843) has returned to using the identical title page of his 1817 edition with the 1837 date re-engraved. The Bewick-style wood engravings have been dropped from this state but reappear in the 1840 issue of this edition. Includes distances, fares and useful information at the end but no list of lodging houses.
