Pictorial endpapers. Second impression in the year of first publication of The Tulip, by Anna Pavord (b.1940), horticultural writer. The first part relates the history of tulip cultivation from Ottoman Turkey into Northern Europe, including the Dutch and their Tulipomania in the seventeenth century and the French and English growers. The second part describes the different species and cultivars with a chronology of tulips.
