Notes
An account of hunting with hounds, especially elephant shooting, by Sir Samuel White Baker (1821-93) who settled in Ceylon, 1845-55. The traveller and explorer later took part in an expedition to the Nile, 1861-65, which led to the European discovery of the lake, named Lake Albert. The early editions of this popular work, with the beautiful lithographs are very scarce.
