An Edition of Dryden's poems with a long introductory memoir and careful annotations by Robert Bell (1800-67). Bell moved from Ireland to London in 1828 and made his reputation as a journalist and literary editor. His English poets series in the same format as the Dryden, was issued in twenty four volumes, 1854-57, and expanded to twenty nine volumes in 1866. A relatively scarce title, handsomely bound.
