Kennneth Cameron was Professor of English Language at the University of Nottingham, specialising in place-names of Danish origin. He served as Honorary Secretary of the English Place-Name Society and Honorary Director of the English Place-Name Survey. John Field (1921-2000) was a former editor of the English Place-Name Society Journal and author of books on field names. His research papers are held at the University of Nottingham.
