4to. 11.75 x 8.5 inches. 130 pp. Bound in blue pictorial laminated boards. Small scratch on edge of front board, otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated throughout in colour and sepia with portrait frontispiece. A well illustrated study of the ceramic work of George Cartlidge (1868-1961), designer of Staffordshire pottery and tiles. He became designer for Sampson Hancock and Sons of Stoke, and later of Hanley, producing a new line of art pottery under the trade name of Morris Ware. The book also reproduces some of his paintings.
