TWO VOLUMES. 8vo. 9 x 6 inches. Volume the First, xxiii + [i] + 309 + [1] + [1] pp. colophon; Volume the Second, xi+ [i] + 300 pp. Title pages in red and black. Bound in brown cloth, gilt, with gilt borders; enclosing small gilt block on front boards. Top edges gilt, others rough cut. Minor wear to extremities, foxing of edges and browning of flyleaves, otherwise a very good set. Signatures of first free endpapers. Illustrated by 20 colour plates, including two frontispieces. George Bryan 'Beau' Brummell (1778-1840) was a famous dandy and arbiter of fashion in Regency England. Running out of money he fled to France to escape debtor's prison and died in exile. Biography by William Jesse (1809-71).
