8vo. 5.75 x 8.75 inches. [xii] + 143 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper with the regimental badge. A very good copy. Photographic print of veterans loosely inserted. Illustrated in black and white. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A title in Leo Cooper's Famous Regiments series. A history of the regiment, which was originally raised for service in Tangier in 1680, by Lieutenant-Colonel William Howard Green, who served in both World Wars, joining the King's Own in 1915. It includes an introduction by Lieutenant-General Sir Brian Horrocks (1895-1985).
