Slight wear to extremities, a little browning of flyleaves and light foxing of edges; otherwise a very good copy. 1972 gift inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by frontispiece and by 24 pages of photographic plates, by 47 maps and sketches in text and by 11 folding maps. Detailed and well illustrated history of the King's African Rifles, formed in 1901 from the earlier Central Africa Regiment, Uganda Rifles, and East Africa Rifles. It covers all campaigns from 1888, including the Eat African Campaign against the Germans, 1914-18, and the Second World War (Abyssinia, Somaliland, Madagascar and Burma).
