8vo., 9 x 5.5 inches, viii + + 182 + pp = 12pp publishers catalogue at rear With lithograph frontis, and 5 engraved maps, three of which are folding. The largest map has an old tear repaired, and the frontis is a little foxed but a very good example. There are neat pencilled comments and notes on the margins here and there.
The first History of Romney Marsh. This very scarce work was published in an edition of approximately 200 copies, of which 111 are noted in the list of subscribers, the remainder were to be sold, but many were destroyed in a fire which accounts for its extreme rarity today. A very good copy of this elusive book.
