Rough cut edges. Extremities worn, including head and tail of spine, which is sunned with worn titles. flyleaves browned and page edges foxed, sometimes extending into margins; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 8 pages of tipped in colour plates. Decorated by title page vignette and by colophon. An anthology of prose and verse on the subject of friendship. Illustrated by Hannah Clarke Preston Macgoun (1864-1913), Scottish artist, who had a working relationship with the Edinburgh printer and publisher, Thomas Noble Foulis (1874-1943).
