Transcription of the diaries and papers of Sir Edward Dering (1625-84), of Pluckley, Kent. The contents include the Parliamentary Diaries,1660 and 1675, the Personal Diary, 1675, the Account Books, 1680-84 and Miscellaneous Papers, 1644 to 1683. Dering, a royalist, graduated from Cambridge and married Mary Harvey, the niece of William Harvey. He served as one of the MPs for Kent, 1660-61, for East Retford, 1670-79 and for Hythe from 1679 and as a Commissioner of the Treasury, 1679-84. The editor, Maurice Bond (1916-83), was Clerk of the Records for the House of Lords Record Office, 1946-81.
