FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 9.5 x 6.25 inches. xii + 130 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, with decorated gilt border on front board. A couple of small marks on front board, but otherwise a fine copy. Illustrated by 6 pages of colour plates and by 53 whole page text figures in black and white. A well illustrated catalogue of the fine bindings in the public library (the first such in Ireland), formed by Narcissus Marsh, successively Bishop of Ferns and Leighlin, Archbishop of Cashel, Archbishop of Dublin and Archbishop of Armagh, and established by an act of the Irish Parliament Parliament, 1707. By Dutch born Mirjam M. Foot (b.1941), librarian and binding historian, who held the post of Professor of Library Studies at University College London.
