A little wear to head and tail of spine, which is dulled, and page edge and p.1 margin foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 6 black and white plates, including frontispiece and facsimile. Account of after dinner rituals in the Combination Room of the College as recorded in the early wine books from 1786 to 1818,revealing the social life and small talk of the Fellows. By historian, Anthony Bedford Steel (1900-73), Principal of the University of South Wales, 1949-66 and Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge.
