FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.75 x 6.25 inches. xiv + 318 pp. + [4] pp. series reviews and list. Bound in original green buckram, gilt, in pictorial non-clipped dust wrapper, which has small edge chips of spine and foxing on inner flap. Some foxing of fore edge and sellotape marks on front flyleaf, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 16 colour, 16 black and white pages of plates, by 88 text figures, including maps.
