An exceptionally detailed and copiously illustrated history of Napoleon's Imperial Guard from the Battle of Marengo to Waterloo. Originally published as Napoleon et la Garde Imperiale by Henry Lachouque (Paris, 1956), it was translated and adapted by the military historian, Anne Seddon Kinsolving Brown (1906-85).
