Notes
A very accomplished drawing depicting the west side of the Norman chapel, which had latterly been converted into a dwelling, and showing the interesting chequer pattern wrought in the stonework. This drawing was among a small number from an album of drawings of places scattered throughout England. They had all been carefully mounted on card and exquisitely hand-titled. None of the drawings was signed but the album was identified as the work of E. Gilbertson.
