A little wear and damp staining to binder, but otherwise a very good copy. An unpublished (and undated) screenplay by the Hollywood writer, producer, director and author, Garner Simmons (b.1943), a member of the Writer's Guild since 1978. According to the Author's Note, it was based on the lives of the aspiring young moviemakers who fled west to Oklahoma to avoid reprisals for violating Thomas Edison's patents and copyrights. The Great Train Robbery, the highly successful film of 1903 was effectively the first Western and had inspired numerous 'independents,' who wished to use outlaws and lawmen in their own motion pictures. Among his credits are the feature films A Rare Breed, Miracle Landing. In Television his credits include the dramatic series Falcon Crest, Yellow Rose, "V", Spencer for Hire (uncredited creative consultant), Buck James, Wolf, and Poltergeist: The Legacy. He has written or rewritten over 200 episodes of television, movies-of-the-week, and miniseries, as well as numerous screenplays. He is the author of two studies of the filmmaker, Sam Peckinpah.
