8vo. 8.25 x 5.75 inches. 352 pp. Illustrated by pictorial title, frontispiece, 8 pages of plates at front, including facsimiles, by 15 pages of black and white plates and by 2 plans numbered in text. Pictorial map endpapers. Bound in original brown cloth, with black titles, in price clipped pictorial dust wrapper, which has some edge wear. Browning of part of front endpaper and a little spotting of fore edge; otherwise a very good copy. A well illustrated account of a partial circumnavigation of the world. Dwight Long (1915-1993), sailor, author and documentary film maker was born in Seattle. He sailed in his ketch, the Idle Hour (later lost in a hurricane), across the Pacific and Indian Oceans from the East Coast of the US to London via the Red Sea and Mediterranean.
