Large 8vo. 9.5 x 7.25 inches. pp. 141-165 + 186-193. Bound in half cloth, over plain boards. Slight wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Earlier label, Derville, and later bookplate and label of Edward Carpenter on front pastedown. Illustrated by text figures, including photographs, map and diagram and by tables. A collection of two articles on the soil profile of Romney Marsh and on Kent, or Romney sheep, off printed from the Journal of the South-Eastern Agricultural College, Wye, Kent, for 1932. The collection was especially bound (possibly by Headley Brothers of Ashford) for Major Max Teichman Derville (d.1963), historian of Romney Marsh, some time after 1932. The volume subsequently passed to Edward Carpenter, later historian of the Marsh
