Hans Schade was a Danish diplomat in Polish service. He entered the diplomatic service in 1696, being nominated this year as a Polish resident in Amsterdam, where his father-in-law, Professor Marcus Meibom, had settled. He was born in 1671 in Roskilde, Denmark and died 1703 in Copenhagen, after being stabbed by Burchard von Suhm. The author may be De Schade's sister-in-law Anna Meibom, who published a detailed presentation of his life and death.
