First Edition Folio, 16 x 11 inches, vi +  + 32 pp. + 36 extremely fine chromolithographed plates in colours and gold with descriptive text amounting to another 33 pp. Bound in the original publishers cloth gilt sympathetically recased, extremities worn and Title page foxed but the plates in fine condition. A very good example. The fine plates were printed in Paris by Firmin-Didot. This work was influential in the design and ornament of a large number of Victorian Gothic revival churches and civic buildings.
