A translation of the German verse of Wilhelm Hey (1789-1854) by Henry William Dulcken (1832-94) of Fünfzig Fabeln für Kinder, first published in Hamburg, 1833. The illustrations were drawn by the artist and lithographer, Otto Speckter (1807-71) and engraved by the brothers, George (1815-1902) and Edward (1817-1905)
