An illustrated industrial history of the paper mill at New Hythe on the Medway, then part of the Reed Paper Group and now Aylesford Newsprint. When he compiled it, H. E. Bates, the novelist and short story writer born in the Midlands, had already been resident in Kent for twenty-one years.
