FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.5 x 5.75 inches. [x] + 108 pp. Bound in original yellow cloth, gilt, in green pictorial dust wrapper, which has slight edge loss and sunned spine with chips at head and tail. of spine. A little wear to extremities and sunning of spine, but otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated by drawings by John Nash. Some of these humorous ballads appeared in The Eye-witness of 1912 and its successor, The New Witness, but the majority were written in the last few years. Among the eighteen contributors are Hilaire Belloc, G. K. Chesterton and J. C. Squire. With numerous whole page drawings by the artist, John Nash (1893-1977).
