Illustrated by black and white photographic frontispiece. A standard work on Old Persian (c.600-400 BC) by US linguistics scholar, Roland Grubb Kent (1877-1952) at the University of Pennsylvania, 1904-47). The section on Old Persian grammar is followed by texts, based on inscriptions, with notes and English translations with a lexicon at the end. A reprint of the second edition of 1953.
