Item Description

FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. 32 pp. Bound in original red cloth, gilt, in unclipped dust wrapper. Flyleaves and edges browned, but otherwise a very good copy. Apparently written in response to A Letter To My Son, by Sir Osbert Sitwell (1892-1969). James Agate (1877-1947), journalist, critic and diarist, wrote about his time in the Army Service Corps in the First World War. He later had a long career as a theatre critic and published Ego, nine volumes of his diary. This work contains his musings and advice to his son on art and war.
