English translation of the edited memoirs of Prince Chlodwig of Hohenlowe-Schillingsfuerst (1819-1901), German liberal politician. He served in a number of offices, including Minister-President of Bavaria, 1866-70, Ambassador to Paris, 1873-80 and Prime Minister of Prussia and Chancellor of Germany, 1894-1900. The editor, Friedrich Curtius (1851-1933) was a civil servant, district director and a member of the Alsace-Lorraine assembly.
