8vo. 7.25 x 5 inches. [iv] + 189 pp. Title page in red and black. Bound in limp navy blue leather, gilt, with gilt monogram of author's initials on front board and gill spine decorations with titles. Marbled endpapers. A little wear to extremities, including head and tail of spine; otherwise a very good copy. 1924 gift inscription on first free endpaper. Play by Scottish author, J. M. Barrie (1860-1937) on the Peter Pan theme of a world unspoilt by the passing of time and ageing. It relates the experiences of Mary Rose, who disappears twice on a Scottish island, once as a child for twenty one days and later as a young wife and mother for several decades without ageing. The play was first performed in 1920.
