Spotting on top edge, but otherwise a very good clean copy. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. First edition in dust wrapper of the sixth major novel of John Fowles (1926-2005), set in a hospital bed, involving a quasi-erotic male-female confrontation in a medical setting.
