Publisher's prohibition stamp, dated 15.10. 58, p.[6]. Illustrated by black and white photographic frontispiece and by stage plan. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. First acting edition of John Osborne's pioneering realist drama, performed at the Royal Court theatre in 1956, the year of the 'Angry Young Men.' It contains additional material not include in the 1957 Faber first trade edition - photograph and plan of the stage setting, a property plot, details of the music played at the London production and a foreword by the author with reflections on the reactions following the play's run.
