Folio. 13.55 x 10.5 inches. Unpaginated. [50] leaves. Title page in red and black and headings printed in red. Bound in quarter green leather, gilt, over decorated green boards. Deckled edges. A fine copy complete in green solander box (with printed paper label), which has imprinting on the inside from contact with the leather binding. Illustrated by 17 wood engravings, including frontispiece, some protected by tissue guards and printed from the original blocks. Decorated by contents page and colophon vignettes. A selection of wood engravings by Leon Underwood (1890-1975), artist, sculptor and wood engraver, who worked on camouflage in both world wars. He drew inspiration from his travels in Mexico and West Africa. Introduction by George Tute (b. 1933), artist and wood engraver. A handsomely bound volume.
