Biography of John Aubrey (1626-97), the Wiltshire born antiquary and writer and his circle, by the author, Anthony Powell (1905-2000), best known for his twelve volume novel sequence, A Dance to the Music of Time (1951-75). First publication of a work which appeared in several later editions.
