Notes
'My aim in writing this little book has been to give such plain and practical directions for the cultivation of in-door plants as may enable any lady to choose and grow abundant flowers to adorn her house.' Little appears to be known about Miss E. A. Maling, other than the titles of her books on gardening, keeping song birds and Cragstone Cottage; or, Life in the Country (1862). In-door plants was first published in 1861; this 1863 reprint is scarce and is not recorded in COPAC.
