Illustrated by 4 wood engravings of the seasons and title page vignette, by Agnes Miller Parker. Essays on a countrywoman's life arranged around the four seasons, first published in Country Life. Janet Eiluned Lewis (1900-79) was a Welsh journalist, novelist and poet. Illustrated by the Scottish artist, Agnes Miller Parker (1895-1980), a celebrated wood engraver. She became famous for her engravings in two H. E. Bates titles of the 1930s, and later illustrated Richard Jefferies in addition to Thomas Hardy for the Limited Editions Club of New York.
