Illustrated throughout in colour (40) and black and white (264). Captions in English French and German. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A survey of Henry Moore's drawings, divided into ten sections, including the war time studies of Yorkshire miners and London air-raid shelterers, 1940-41. These were commissioned by Kenneth Clark as chairman of the War Artists Committee. Clark, a collector of the drawings and a close friend of the artist, has provided an effective commentary on Moore's work. First paperback edition of a work first published 1974.
