4to. 8.75 x 10.5 inches. 326 pp. In pictorial dust wrapper. A little wear to extremities and spotting of edges, but otherwise a very good copy. Signature on first free endpaper. Illustrated throughout in colour (40) and black and white (264). Captions in English French and German. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A survey of Henry Moore's drawings, divided into ten sections, including the war time studies of Yorkshire miners and London air-raid shelterers, 1940-41. These were commissioned by Kenneth Clark as chairman of the War Artists Committee. Clark, a collector of the drawings and a close friend of the artist, has provided an effective commentary on Moore's work. First paperback edition of a work first published 1974.
