Bound in the original green quarter morocco with the title in gilt on the spine, over the original green ribbed buckram boards. The upper board has an original gilt embossed title piece reading 'T.S.Coopers Cattle Groups from Nature' with a representation of two sheep, a cow and a goat set in a landscape. The binding is in very good condition only very slightly rubbed. The title page is foxed and there is some foxing to the plates but this is mostly marginal all the original paper guards are present as are the end-papers, very rare in this fine original condition.

'The twenty-six tinted lithographs heightened with white, in this series represent Cooper's last work on stone. Surpassing in quality all his previous lithographic work.' so says Kenneth J. Westwood in his exhaustive bibliography of Coopers lithographs. He further says 'Unfortunately, although odd plates can be found, complete volumes in original bindings are extremely scarce.
