Notes
A well-composed engraving after a drawing by the famous, early-nineteenth century water-colourist and topographical engraver. Seen from the East Head looking West over the harbour, of particular interest is the clear detail of the houses on the Stade, and the stark outline of the Parish church and cliff-top houses against the setting sun. This view was published in Virtue's 'Picturesque Beauties of Great Britain' and Ireland's 'History of Kent'.
