Small 8vo. 6.5 x 4.25 inches. [vi] + 178 pp. Bound in contemporary brown leather with decorative gilt borders on both boards; spine in compartments with raised bands, decorated gilt. All edges gilt. Inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Minor wear to extremities and scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by device on title page. An early edition of Tennyson's collection of 1862-64 poems, Enoch Arden. The name poem is a narrative verse about a shipwrecked sailor, supposedly lost, but who returns home after over eleven years to find that his wife has remarried. The collection also includes 'A welcome to Alexandra,' the Danish princess who marries Edward Prince of Wale. An attractively bound copy.
